What is the difference between Gantry punch machine and ordinary punch machine?

Today I want to share with you the difference between gantry punching machines and ordinary punching machines

1. Appearance configuration:

The H-type and C-type punches are commonly known as gantry punches and ordinary punches. The shape and structure of the gantry punch press looks like the English letter H, so it is called H-type punch press. The shape and structure of an ordinary punch press looks like the English letter C, so it is called a C-type punch press, also called an open punch press.

2. Structural features:

Both H-type and C-type presses are gear-driven presses.

2.1 Shockproof aspects

Type H is usually installed with air-cushion feet, and type C is mostly installed with anti-vibration feet.

2.2 Guide pillars

Type H has four round guide posts, and type C has three round guide posts.

2.3 Control aspect

Type H is numerically controlled, and type C is available from low-end manual and pedal to high-end CNC.

The picture shows the H-shaped gantry punch. It is equipped with an automated feeding system and is combined with the punch CNC system to make the production process more worry-free and efficient.

2.4 Feeding aspects

Generally, type H is a clamp feeder and type C is a rolling feeder.

2.5 Structural aspects

Type H is closed, type C is open or semi-open.

The above different factors also lead to the fact that the H-type high-speed punch press is more evenly stressed than the C-type high-speed punch press, and the products produced are more precise and faster.

3. Approximate data:

The H type uses a continuous die. Generally, the C type equipment only has a single punch die, and only mid-to-high-end equipment supports the continuous die.

Assuming that the established production conditions are the same, the production efficiency of the H-type high-speed punch press will be at least two to four times higher than that of the C-type high-speed punch press. The H-type stamping speed is usually about 400 times/min, and the C-type stamping speed is generally about 100 times/min

4. In summary:

Taken together, the gantry punch machine has a stronger structure, better stability, higher production efficiency and precision than ordinary punch machines, and more advanced digital integration. It is suitable for mass production of products, but the price is much higher than that of ordinary punch machines.
