Metal lath for plaster
Introduction of Metal lath for plaster
Metal lath for plaster, a mesh formed by expanding a perforated metal sheet, is made in a variety of forms (diamond-mesh, flat-ribbed, and wire lath).
Metal lath provides a lightweight and easily attachable base for plaster application. Made from expanded steel, the lath generally is applied flat across the stud plane and attached with staples, nails, or wafer head lath screws.
Metal lath is used as a platform to embed and attach the stucco cementitious membrane to the structural members of the building. Without the lath there would be little or no way to apply stucco to open frame or sheathed construction.
Expanded Metal Lath Offers Wall Reinforcement and Prevents Cracking. Expanded metal lath is widely applied on wall, ceiling and other building plastering works, including the reinforcement and renovation of joints and cracks as it offers better plaster bonding property and enhanced crack resistance.
